What Are Adverbs of Frequency?

Adverbs of frequency describe how often an action happens. Some common examples include:

  • Always (100%)
  • Usually (80%)
  • Often (60%)
  • Sometimes (40%)
  • Rarely (20%)
  • Never (0%)

Placement in Sentences:

  1. Before the main verb (except for to be)
    • She always arrives on time.
    • They sometimes go to the cinema.
  2. After the verb to be
    • He is never late.
    • We are usually busy in the mornings.

Rewrite the sentences using the word in brackets:
