Fun for all – ages 3 and up
Integrate the game into classroom lesson plans or use as an activity.
Level:
This lesson can be used on all ages of elementary to advanced students.
Target:
The aim of this lesson is to improve speaking and writing skills talking about the body.
Preparation:
First print the activity sheets. Photocopy one activity sheet for each student in the class.
Activity
After going through your regular review and teacher talk, tell the students that they’re going to play a bingo game about the body parts.
Instructions
Set up:
Each player will need to cut apart their game board.
Everyone’s board will be different.
Provide tokens for players to place on squares as questions are read.
How to play:
The caller reads off names of the body parts and players must guess which body part is being described. They place a token on the body part they believe is the correct answer. When someone calls “Bingo” they must read off the body parts on their bingo to see if their guesses were correct.
Suggestion:
In addition to the usual four-in-a-row bingo, you could try these variations:
“Four Corners”: players must get a token in the each of the corner squares
“Postage Stamp”: players must get four all together in a 2×2 formation
“Flood”: players must cover the whole board.
