ENGLISH-QUANTIFIERS

The English Quantifiers

We use quantifiers when we want to give someone information about the number of something: how much or how many.

We can use quantifiers with both count and uncount nouns:
ALL
SOME
MORE
A LOT OF
LOTS OF
MUCH
MANY
ANY
NO
NONE OF
VERY

MUCH OR MANY
We use much with singular (uncountable) nouns and many with plurals.
Much and many are most common in questions and negatives.
How many people will be there?
How much information do you have?

SOME OR ANY
We use some mostly in affirmative sentences.
We use any instead of some in negative and interrogative sentences.
I have some bread. I haven’t got any bread.
Do you have any bread?
