What You’ll Need to Make the Game:

  • Laminating machine

How to Assemble the Game:

  1. Print and Prepare:
    • Download and print the Train Picture Match PDF. A link to the PDF is provided at the end of this post.
  2. Cut Out the Train Cars:
    • Carefully cut along the dotted lines to separate each train car set.
  3. Create Your Game Folder:
    • Take a file folder and paste three train car sets onto each side. This will provide students with a variety of matching options!
  4. Laminate:
    • To make the game more durable, laminate both the folder and the page of pictures. This will help protect the game from wear and tear during use.
  5. Cut Out the Pictures:
    • After laminating, cut out each picture from the laminated sheet. Ensure each picture is ready for matching!
  6. Prepare the Velcro Dots:
    • Cut each Velcro dot in half. Attach one half to the back of each cut-out picture.
    • Place the corresponding Velcro dot half somewhere inside the box for each picture on the train cars. Make sure the Velcro dot half does not cover the picture. For example, on the dinosaur picture, you could put the Velcro dot half in the blank space above its back.
  7. Play the Game:
    • Now, it’s time to have fun! Students will match the pictures by attaching them to the corresponding train car with the Velcro dots.
