  • Where can you see a performance?

Model

Ask children: What are some types of performances? (rock concerts, ballets, musicals, etc.) Ask students: What are some examples of performers? (singers, dancers, musicians, etc.) Say: Performances are shows that people go to. There are many different kinds of performers. One type of performer is a musician. What are some instruments that musicians play? (guitars, trumpets, drums, etc.)

Apply

Play the games that follow. Have them discuss with their partner the different topics that appear during the Talk About It feature. After the first game, ask children if they have ever seen or participated in a performance. After the second game, encourage them to share experiences they have had performing or witnessing performances.

Close

Ask children: Name all the different types of performances and performers you can think of and talk about what each one is like. Say: Performances can be a lot of fun! Many people go with their friends or family to see performances. What type of performer would you like to be? Why?
