Model

Ask children: What are the children in this photo doing? (painting a picture). What special talent do the children in the picture have? (painting, art). Ask children: What are some special talents that people in your family have? (answers will vary). Say: Each one of us is unique. That means there are special things about us that make us different. What are some things that make a person unique? (being a good friend, playing sports, playing music, being good at school).

Apply

Have children view the remaining slides and play the games that follow. Have them discuss with their partner the different topics that appear during the Talk About It feature. After the first two games, ask children to talk about how the items on the screen will help the children learn more about the activities they are interested in. After the second game, have them discuss activities that they are interested in.

Close

Ask children: What are some activities that you like to do? Explain. Summarize for children that each of us are interested in different things. We have talents that make each one of us special. Encourage children to think about what activities they would like to try that they have never done before.
